Hiking

 

Through the vast landscape of National Park De Meinweg many hiking routes are marked. We like to help you get started by giving an overview of several hiking routes below. The mentioned routes start at or close to Visitors Centre De Meinweg / Brasserie De Boshut. More information can be found at the information desk of Visitors Centre de Meinweg/ Brasserie De Boshut. 
Louis Douven pad 
Purple poles 2km 
Also possible to follow by the Roerdalen Wandelknooppuntennetwerk, 
Follow numbers: 62 -39 – 60 – 64 
Start at:  Visitors Centre de Meinweg/ Brasserie De Boshut 
This nature path goes from Visitors Centre de Meinweg/ Brasserie De Boshut to the parking place at the railway crossing. This path can be walked in both directions. 
 

Zandbergen pad 
Half tree trunks : 3 km 
Also possible to follow by the Roerdalen Wandelknooppuntennetwerk, 
Follow numbers: 62 - 39 - 60 – 64  
Start at:  Visitors Centre de Meinweg/ Brasserie De Boshut 
This route can be easily combined with Louis Douven pad. The route goes from De Boshut to the parking place at the railway crossing, but goes on through the forest afterwards. If you connect the two routes ( 62-39-60 – 64 – 63 -62) the route will be 5 km. Various elements for children are inserted in this route. You will pass a climbing hill, a cosy sitting corner, and not to forget the 20 tree sculptures which have been placed along the road. 
Pay close attention to the route markings on the thick tree trunks; the direction of the route is an arrow cut into the wood at the top of the trunk 
 

Other hiking routes 
There are many more routes in the surroundings of Bezoekerscentrum de Meinweg, but these do not start directly at Bezoekerscentrum de Meinweg. Beautiful routes which are definitely worth checking out.
